April 26 & 28, 2008 - Nature Fest & Spring Flute Festival

Held at the Georgetown School Nature Area and outdoor amphitheater. Nature Fest activities on Saturday only. Flute Festival runs both Saturday & Sunday. Saturday Concert at 3:00 PM Featuring Scott August, David Blonski, & the Feather River Singers. Sunday features an all day Open Mic featuring Native American Flute players from all over Northern California. Children Activities, food, workshops and musical performances featured both days.

The American River Acoustic Music Camp will be a premier music camp in northern California that is diverse, educational, inspirational, and memorable. The camp will embrace all aspects of acoustic string music and will strive to light the flames of creativity in a way that is positive, and above all, fun! In depth classes will be offered in acoustic blues guitar, flatpicking, rhythm guitar, fingerpicking, resonator guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, upright bass, songwriting, and rhythm. READ ACROSS AMERICA - A HUGE SUCCESS!

On Tuesday, March 4, 2008, over 150 Divide students, teachers and community members participated in the National Education Association annually sponsored NEA’s Read Across America program. Now in its 10th year this week long celebration puts attention on the importance of motivating children to read. This nationwide reading program is celebrated around Dr. Seuss’s birthday.

RON THOMPSON & HIS RESISTORS, BLUES FARM and the BUZZZTONES

On Saturday, April 16, 2005, that little radio station “that could” from Georgetown, CA, KFOK LPFM will be bringing world-class blues to the fertile soils of the Divide! A gala fundraising show for the community radio station will be held at the Georgetown IOOF Hall on the corner of Main Street and Hwy. 193 starting at 7:00 PM. Three acts will be featured! Opening with local greats the Buzzztones, the show will then progress to another local act, Blues Farm. Headlining the event will be the legendary Grammy nominee Ron Thompson & His Resistors.
