Indigenous sounds and music from the Americas and beyond, but mostly traditional and contemporary music of “Turtle Island” (America). Music or sounds by Native musicians includes all genres from round dance songs, pow wows, native church, Hawaiian, flute and drum, funk, rock, reggae, hip-hop, jazz, etc. Favorite Native musicians include Mary Youngblood, Carlos Nakai, Joanne Shenandoah, John Trudell & Bad Dog, Goodshield Aguilar & 7th Generation Rise, Walela, Robert Mirabal, Bear Fox, Gabriel Ayala, Tony Duncan, Radmilla Cody, Izzy, Blackfire, Sihasin, Stephen Meadows, Randy Woods, Yolanda Martinez and many, many more.
