Reba's Reggae and Blues
First and third Mondays, 6–8 pm
Rebecca invites listeners to experience the uplifting and beautiful beat of Jamaica and the surrounding Caribbean islands. Rebecca also enjoys sharing blues music, another uplifting genre she has enjoyed most of her adult life. With a nod toward world music, she throws in reggae from around the world, including Africa, Latin America, and the United States and often adds music in which reggae is rooted, including zydeco, blues, and Motown.
Rebecca, who graduated from California State University, Sacramento, with a degree in journalism, has been writing since 1982. She has worked for the Georgetown Gazette since 1988, and became its editor in 2008 after working as a reporter and photographer for the local paper for 20 years. She loves sharing reggae, which she began listening to in the early 1970s, when it was relatively new outside of the Caribbean.
Rebecca is KFOK’s Underwriting Coordinator.
