"Hikes from the North Fork to the South Fork of the American River"

Pilot Creek above University Falls.

With this gorgeous, spring-like weather we've been experiencing lately, there couldn't be a better time to get out and go for a hike! Many know our area is full of great places to go hiking. What many may not know, is that, the complete guide to local hiking trails is once again available online. Due to changes in Internet technology, the site had gone dark recently, being unavailable to most visitors. After moving the site over to WordPress, GetOffYourGass is back and better than ever!

Second & Fourth Thursdays of Every Month, 3:30 – 4:30pm
Georgetown Library, 6680 Orleans Street, Georgetown, CA

In the "Rover" program, children with reading difficulties actually read stories to a dog and the dog loves listening! A child who may be hesitant to read aloud to his peers is typically less stressed when reading to a dog, and the dog never judges the child's reading ability. Come read to our own “Rover” - a patent and sweet German Shepherd named Remy. He will be here with his owner Nancy Butterfield the second and fourth Thursdays of every month at 3:30pm. Help your child get over his or her fear of reading aloud!

Broadcaster James Darlow, host of the popular Sunday Morning House Calls show, has called it quits. After a run of 18 months, James did his last show on KFOK last Sunday morning.
A lover of radio since childhood, James has been on the radio behind the mic and behind the scenes for nearly 10 years, spanning both his college and post-college careers. In an email to broadcasters and staff regarding his resignation, James wrote: "Sadly, it is time to move on and let others feel the magic. I have, and always will, enjoy the magic of music blasting from the radio, but not from behind the mic. It has been a blast! I will truly miss the fun, yet I know that this is the right time."

Happy Trails, James! We wish you all the best in your new endeavors!
