8th ANNUAL MARSHALL GRANGE COMMUNITY TALENT CONTEST

APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE

Entry Applications are now available for the Marshall Grange’s 8th Annual Community Talent Contest on Saturday August 2.  This is the first step for talented folks in our community to compete in a larger statewide contest to be held at the California State Grange Convention in San Louis Obispo this October.

There are two age groups, 15- and-under and 16-and-over.  Prizes of $50, $30 and $20 dollars will go to the top finishers in both categories.  Winners in each category will then be eligible to compete for bigger prizes at the State Grange Convention.

There are a lot of talented folks on the great Georgetown Divide.  Whether you are a singer, a songwriter, a solo musician, a musical group, someone who does poetry or literary readings, clowning, skits, unicycle riding, bird calls, magic, gymnastics, marshal arts, comedy, or whatever, this is your golden opportunity to show the community what you have, and maybe earn some fame and a few bucks at the same time.  You don’t need to be a Grange member to compete at the local level; however, winners going on to the state finals must join the Grange if they are not already members.

Applications for the Talent Contest are available at the Marshall Grange, local businesses, and local post offices or can be obtained by phoning 642-8671.   The deadline for submission is Friday, August 1, 2014.  .
